POLICY ON DUTIES AND MEMBERSHIP OF ASSOCIATION STANDING COMMITTEES
Pursuant to the By-Laws of the Association, Sec. 6.9, the Board of Representatives hereby promulgate the following policies on the duties and membership of standing committees.
I. Membership
A. The members, Board liaisons and chairmen of each standing committee, active and serving as of June 11, 1992 are deemed to be current members. See attached list.
B. The President of the Board shall appoint to each standing committee, one Board member to serve as Board Liaison to that committee. Their duties will be to convene, in consultation with the committee chairman, meetings of the committee and to report committee recommendations to the Board.
C. Candidates for committee membership must be confirmed by majority vote of the Board members present at regular monthly board meetings or at any special meeting of the Board.
D. Each standing committee shall elect its own chairman, either at the first meeting of the committee each new year or whenever a vacancy in the chairmanship is created.
E. No member of the Association may serve on more than two standing committees at any one time.
F. The number of members of each standing committee shall be fixed at a maximum of seven, commencing January 1, 1993. |
